Inspection of port infrastructure
- Industry: Ports
- Location: France – Mediterranean Sea
- Hydro: Hydro 100 | ROV: BR2 | Depth: 4 meters
Mission’s context
During the development of the Hydro 100, our most compact and lightweight photogrammetry unit, we conducted a trial inspection in a port, simulating a real-world subsea inspection to assess the structural integrity of port infrastructure. Ports are central to all subsea activity, acting as key hubs for logistics, transport, and offshore operations. Yet despite their critical role, they are often under-monitored, largely due to the high costs and logistical challenges associated with traditional inspection methods.
IVM Solution
With the Hydro 100, our objective was clear: to design a solution compact enough to be the go-to subsea inspection equipment for shallow water, especially in space constraint environments like ports, docks, and marinas. By demonstrating the ease and efficiency of using the Hydro 100 in these operations, we aim to show that infrastructure monitoring doesn’t have to be complex, with the right underwater survey equipment, it becomes almost effortless.
