IVM SLAM
Real-time 3D modeling for faster and safer subsea inspectionsThe IVM SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) is an AI-powered survey assistant, delivered as a topside computer, that brings real-time 3D modeling to underwater inspections.
The IVM SLAM acts as an intelligent assistant, processing data from the Hydro Series unit to generate a live 3D model as you navigate. In addition, IVM SLAM enables cutting down data post processing time by selecting key frames from each survey, reducing post processing duration by up to 80%. This immediate spatial awareness helps operators track their progress, ensuring all necessary data is collected, and optimize the survey duration.
Adding the IVM SLAM to your fleet means you get immediate coverage insights and achieve the best operational efficiency on all your inspections, even in challenging underwater conditions such as turbidity.
A system powered by AI for high-precision 3D reconstruction
The system relies on advanced algorithms, AI trained on subsea environments, to identify key points and align images, ensuring robust performance even in challenging visibility. To optimize real-time processing speed, the SLAM works with downscaled 720p images from the Hydro (which captures 4K images). In addition to the real-time 3D model, the SLAM selects key images (around 10%) to accelerate the post-processing reconstruction of the final, high-accuracy 3D model.
Plug & Play solution for 3D subsea inspections
The IVM SLAM integrates seamlessly with all Hydro Series units. During inspections, images captured by the photogrammetry unit are transmitted to the SLAM topside computer, where they are processed in real-time to generate a 3D model. This real-time 3D model is then displayed on the IVM Supervisor software interface, allowing the operator to visualize the inspection progress in 3D live.
