Dedicated API for subsea photogrammetry units Hydro Series
Until now, IVM Technologies offered an end-to-end solution for photogrammetry-powered inspections, consisting of a stereo photogrammetry unit and a dedicated software to control it. Today, we are taking integration a step further by offering an API that allows our clients to seamlessly integrate our unit into their existing software workflows.
There is a common challenge in subsea inspections: every minute counts. Whether inspecting an offshore oil platform, a windfarm or a hydroelectric dam, operators are always looking for cost-effective solutions. With the accuracy delivered by Hydro Series, inspection times are already significantly reduced compared to traditional methods such as divers or calipers.
The API we have developed will help operators become even more efficient in their inspections. It allows Hydro Series units to be easily integrated into your existing workflow or even create a fully dedicated workflow where our sensor can be added. This is a simple solution, integrable into all workflows, linking our stereo photogrammetry units to your software. It offers users greater maneuverability and independence and control over how commands are triggered, managed, and automated.
By enabling direct integration with autonomous systems, such as ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) or AUVs (Autonomous Underwater Vehicles), the API also paves the way for fully autonomous inspections. Operators can now deploy Hydro Series units in unmanned missions, reducing human intervention, enhancing safety, and further optimizing operational costs.
Optimized performance
Underwater equipment often faces limited bandwith, so every data efficiency gain is valuable. To optimize communications, we chose Protobuf, a binary format that significantly reduces the size of messages exchanged for each command.
