As part of our growth, we are looking for a Sales Engineer to strengthen our sales team and improve the way we manage and convert business opportunities.
Job description
Reporting to the Business Developer and working closely with the technical teams, your role will be to turn sales opportunities into concrete business.
You will act as the interface between:
- Prospects and customers;
- The sales team;
- R&D;
- Production;
- Operations.
Your objective will be to enable the sales team to handle more opportunities, with greater responsiveness and a high level of quality.
You will be involved throughout the entire process, from the initial contact through to the delivery of the product or service.
Main responsibilities
Technical pre-sales
- Analyze the needs expressed by prospects.
- Participate in technical discussions with customers.
- Understand business and operational constraints and propose appropriate solutions.
- Prepare technical and commercial responses.
- Contribute to the preparation of proposals and quotations.
- Prepare presentations and demonstrations.
- Identify technical or operational roadblocks.
Sales pipeline management and development
- Qualify incoming requests and leads.
- Maintain and actively manage the CRM.
- Follow up on business opportunities.
- Organize sales follow-ups and outreach.
- Prepare progress and pipeline summaries.
- Help prioritize opportunities.
Internal coordination
- Act as the link between Sales, R&D, Production, and Operations.
- Prepare the handover of sold projects to the operational teams.
- Capture and consolidate customer feedback.
- Participate in post-sales and post-service debriefs.
- Identify potential improvements to our sales processes.
Sales support
- Occasionally accompany the Business Developer to customer meetings.
- Participate in selected trade shows and industry events.
- Conduct technical demonstrations on an occasional basis.
Candidate profile
We are looking for someone with a dual interest and skill set:
- Understanding complex technical products;
- Enjoying customer interaction and the commercial side of the business.
You are not a pure salesperson: you enjoy understanding how things work.
Nor are you solely technical: you enjoy explaining, persuading, and moving opportunities forward.
You are organized, curious, responsive, and enjoy working as part of a team.
This position is particularly well suited to someone with a strong technical background who wants to move into a customer-facing role without giving up their understanding of the products and technology.
Education and experience
Technical education or training (engineering degree, technical college, electronics, mechanical engineering, industrial IT, robotics, etc.) or equivalent professional experience.
Initial professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Technical pre-sales;
- Sales engineering;
- Industrial customer support;
- Complex systems integration.
Experience in an industrial or technology-driven environment would be an advantage.
Required skills
- Excellent ability to analyze and understand customer needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in technical discussions.
- Ability to write clear and well-structured documents.
- Strong organizational skills and rigor in opportunity tracking and follow-up.
- Professional-level English (minimum C1, ideally C2).
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience with CRM systems.
- Experience selling technical products.
- Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, or industrial IT.
- Experience or knowledge in machine vision, robotics, inspection, or drones.

Position details
- Permanent full-time contract (CDI) – Marseille 13009, France.
- Status: Management-level employee, annualized working days arrangement (forfait jours).
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Salary depending on experience: €38,000–€45,000 gross per year.
